Camera Cabling and PoE in Phoenix, AZ

Wired cameras are the most reliable. I run Ethernet cable for PoE cameras through attics, walls and conduit, terminate it cleanly, and connect it to a PoE switch or recorder.

What's included

Common problems I see in Phoenix homes

Phoenix heat, dust and monsoon storms are hard on cameras and recorders: housings bake in the afternoon sun, dust coats the lenses, and power surges knock systems offline. Good placement, outdoor-rated cable and a cool spot for the recorder make a system last.

How I approach camera cabling and poe

I plan the cable path to keep runs short and protected, use outdoor-rated cable or conduit for anything exposed to Phoenix sun, and test every run before the camera goes up. Attic work in summer is scheduled early in the morning. Every run gets labeled at both ends.

Code note: I run low-voltage data cable only. Any new 120 V wiring is a separate job that I tell you about before starting.
