Fixture Installation in Phoenix, AZ
Light fixtures, ceiling fans, bathroom vanity lights, mirrors, towel bars, curtain rods, blinds and cabinet hardware: I install the fixtures that finish a room, level and secure.
Licensed Phoenix, Arizona General Contractor - ROC 367058 (R-62)
What's included
- Ceiling fans and light fixtures (replacing existing)
- Bathroom accessories: towel bars, TP holders, mirrors, medicine cabinets
- Curtain rods, blinds and shades
- Cabinet knobs and pulls
- Smart doorbells, thermostats and locks
- Grab bars and safety rails
Common problems I see in Phoenix homes
- Fixtures hung on boxes that are not rated for the weight
- Towel bars pulled out of drywall with no anchor
- Crooked hardware from guessed measurements
- Old fixtures with brittle wiring from attic heat
Phoenix homes take a beating from heat, UV, dust storms and monsoon rain. Small problems like a dragging door, a loose fixture or a clogged vent get worse fast in that climate, so it pays to fix them early.
How I approach fixture installation
I measure and mark everything before drilling, use the correct anchor for drywall, tile or block, and hit studs where the load needs it. For anything electrical, power is off at the breaker and I test before touching wires. When I finish, I check that it works, is level, and that the area is clean.
Code note: Ceiling fans need a box listed for fan support (NEC 314.27(C)). If the existing box isn't rated, I replace it or add a brace.
